We had a wonderful dinner and really appreciated our helpful server, Izzy P. She was lovely and made a special effort with our vegan diet requests. Highly recommended for a special time!

We had an excellent golf break at Oulton Hall. The organisation of our break was handled excellently. From the moment we arrived the staff made us very welcome. The decor and soft furnishings were excellent. The food and waiting staff were brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 rounds of golf - course in good form, Our only criticism was the loud music playing from the Claret Jug balcony and could be heard on the approach to and on the 18th hole - not in keeping with the spirit of the game. The signage around the golf course directing you to the next hole was poor too. Many thanks to all

Last minute decision to go to Oulton Hall and we enjoyed it. Arrived Saturday night and got quickly checked in and booked into the restaurant by the receptionist for 45 minutes later. restaurant was pretty busy but we got seated and drinks sorted pretty quickly. We had been travelling all day so a bit tired but managed some martini cocktails (excellent) and couple of glasses of red. I had fish and chips which tasted fine but the portion of fish was small. Finished with cheese and biscuits and managed an Old fashioned too - very nice. Sunday morning we went down to the gym first and then into the pool for a splash around- very pleasant. made it into breakfast by 9.00 which was very busy but we got seated quickly and dived into the buffet. Nice spread, enjoyed the full fry-up and a croissant too. The staff by the way are all lovely, very professional and smiley. Our room was on the third floor which is a bit of a trek from reception and involves two lifts- room was clean, well appointed and spacious. All in all, a very nice and enjoyable stay, would come again.

We meet up with our cousins two or three times a year to have dinner bed and breakfast in a hotel within a couple of hours away from home. This week we chose Oulton Hall near Leeds in Yorkshire. It’s a beautiful building and very tastefully restored and decorated. The rooms are stylish with very comfortable beds and luxurious linen. The food was delicious and served by very friendly staff. In fact all the staff we came into contact with were excellent.

Beautiful location.. food was lovely including breakfast..was slightly chaotic as it was so so busy! Would come again!

The hotel is very impressive with superb gardens and luxurious public rooms. The Champagne Bar was excellent for lunch both in quality and value. For dinner the Calverley Restaurant was excellent. The food was fantastic and the service exemplified by Izzy P was super friendly and professional. The golf and spa are also top class though the golf course could do with improving its signage for visitors. All in all Oulton Hall is a fantastic venue for a refreshing break and all the staff are very helpful, professional and engaging.

I have stayed here a few times. It is a good hotel. Rooms are clean, common areas good, but breakfast was chaotic with a basic level of service. Dinner however was excellent. What makes it exceptional for me is the level of service provided by 2 members of staff. Oliver, who made a good meal exceptional with his humour and attentiveness and the man who works in the lounge, his photo is on the web page. He made me feel at home and provided a high level of service. The atmosphere when he wasn't working was very different. Overall good, however those two members of staff raise the bar

Group of 9 ladies had the most wonderful stay at oulton hall all the staff were amazing customer service was superb from reception spa , bar and restaurant to the wonderful cleaning staff who cared for the rooms sorry if we missed anyone we can’t wait to return again so nice to be welcomed to a glorious building and ground’s thank you to everyone concerned in our spa retreat

Had the best experience at oulton hall ,my friend and I stayed over for 1 night and had treatments We arrived and was welcomed by lovely staff who checked us in , we had afternoon tea served in the drawing room and had our very own butler called Robbie ! He was very attentive and professional, nothing was too much for him we loved Robbie The treatments we had in the spa were amazing I’d say the best I’ve had in a very long time and so relaxing , again lovely staff really friendly. We went to our room and noticed how clean and up-to date it was , very well kept hotel and decor really nice , we felt like princess’s for the day . I can not leave this with out mentioning Paul Bayliss the manager who catered for our every need and made sure we had the best day ! What a gentleman and very professional Best spa package by far

An absolutely beautiful place to stay. Oulton Hall, Spa & Golf Resort! Fine manicured lawns and gardens, beautiful golf course, wonderful sitting area (very expansive) nice Bar area and wonderful restaurant & food. The service from everyone was superb! First Class!! Josef, Izzyp & Sarah all wonderful! Made you feel very special, like we were the ones ones staying at the hotel!

Hotel, food and staff were great. Rooms were really clean. Spa was fine. I was on a golf break and unfortunately the golf courses were struggling to maintain a standard which you would normally expect. The fairways and greens were in pretty poor condition and suffering from vandalism. I also did not see one groundskeeper in the three days I was there. The Claret Jug was run really well and if the courses could be sorted I would recommend.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at Oulton Hall. All the staff from those on the front desk to those providing house keeping and the bar/restaurant teams were so friendly, polite and helpful. The chefs ensured wonderfully tasting food at all mealtimes. The rhubarb scones were particularly delicious. I must mention by name my beauty therapist, Mirinda, who looked after me with great kindness, professionalism and diligence. I think this establishment deserves the five stars I’ve given.

33 of us went for a golf stay. The stay was good value for money. The accommodation and food was good and a great choice in the Claret Jug. It was nice that we were all in a separate room for breakfast. I was disappointed that for my stay on the Saturday night the hotel would not match a web price and due to confusion I was unable to cancel my reservation and rebook. The bar was crowded and it would have been good to have another room. The course was in reasonable condition for a hotel course, but the grass on fairways and tee boxes was too long and greens need some attention. The staff were all fabulous.

Had a lovely day at the spa. Although it's smaller than others for me it was all about the treatments. I had the best deep tissue massage and facial with Haleema. She was really attentive and took on board my needs. She tailored the massage to me and I've come away feeling amazing 😊

Haleema gave me one of the best back massages I’ve had. She was professional, friendly, and made me feel completely relaxed from start to finish. She really focused on the areas where I had tension, and I left feeling so much better. She gave me some amazing advise how to ease the tension in my back. Highly recommend her if you’re looking for a calming and effective massage experience also Gracie Allen was an amazing waitress, so welcoming, attentive, and polite throughout our visit. She made sure everything was perfect and always checked in with a smile. Her customer service really stood out and made the whole experience even better. Thank you, Gracie!

This is a bit of a mixed bag review from us…. Firstly, this is a beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings. It’s got the wow factor when you arrive - manor house vibe, with gorgeous decor, a big atrium, champagne bar, library, lounges etc. Check-in was easy and we upgraded to a Deluxe Double. Lovely room in a quiet part of the hotel which suited us perfectly. We had treatments booked in the spa, and as we’d arrived later than planned they happily moved them back for us. The spa itself is OK, but not amazing, been to many so much better. One downside is the seating around the pool is lots of chairs crammed in right up next to each other. The pool is OK, the sauna and steam rooms are average size and hot. We had massages by Chloe and Safina, and both of them deserve a mention because they were both fantastic. We ate dinner in the evening in the Calverley Grill. We were served by a lovely young lady called Rosie, who was really friendly and chatty (in a good way), helped us with menu choices and was just brilliant. Thank you Rosie. Starters were lovely. I had the steak for main course which was really good, the red wine jus was to die for. My wife had the hake dish, which she said was fantastic. I skipped dessert and had an espresso martini which was nice, but not very strong. Liz had the vanilla cheesecake. This was not good at all! Firstly, it was a baked cheesecake, which it didn’t say on the menu. It was dry and either over baked or not fresh - I’ve worked in kitchens and I would not have served this. It had a pineapple salsa on the top which tasted very strange, it had a fizz to it like overripe pineapple. We told Rosie that it wasn’t great and she happily took it away and spoke to her boss. A gentleman then came over (I can’t remember his name but he was the Guest Experience Manager) and said he’d heard we weren’t happy with the dessert. We firstly explained how great the rest of the meal was, except the cheesecake. He said he’d go and speak to the kitchen. He returned 5 minutes later and said there was nothing wrong with it, the zing was from the lime juice in the salsa and implied it would not be taken off the bill (which we hadn’t even requested!!) He then spoke for a good 5 minutes about how important it is for guests to be happy and what his role was. We pointed out that it was not just the salsa, that it was dry and unpleasant, and we also suggested the menu say ‘baked’ cheesecake and he said it’s a national menu and too difficult to change. We are not the type to try and get money off, but it was an expensive meal and the dessert was not good, and he was quite dismissive and certainly not making his guests happy, it was a bit odd. Breakfast the next morning was OK. The table we were shown to was dirty and we had to ask for it to be wiped down. Hot and cold buffet was pretty basic. All in all a nice enough stay, but could have been so much better.

It is a beautiful building in lovely calm surroundings. The customer care is exceptional and almost every member of staff we interacted with were so warm, friendly and focused on giving us the best service. The only reason this is a 4 star review rather than 5 star is the quality of the food we had at dinner. Having only 2 vegetarian main options (both pasta) is poor and the spaghetti I had was ok but nothing special and not worth the price tag. Our starters were cold and my friend's salmon was overcooked. We were given a free drink and pudding as compensation, which we appreciated but I'd rather we had a good food. We will return but are unlikely to eat dinner there.

We booked Sunday lunch at the Claret Jug £24 for 2 courses and £32 for 3 courses. We got a telephone call just before we were leaving to say our reservation at the Claret Jug had been cancelled and we had been moved to the Calverley Grill restaurant in the main hotel. The downside as although it was the same menu it was £29 each for 2 courses and despite asking the original price wasn’t honoured. We both chose the beef Sunday roast and everything was wonderful except the roast potatoes that tasted like they had come out of a frozen packet. We left these. The desserts of crème brule (excellent) and apple and blackberry crumble (tasty but very small and possibly not home made and bought in) were a nice finish but overall being charged an additional £10 because not enough people had booked the Claret Jug to make it worthwhile opening and having at least 2 items that were bought in and not professionally made really does let down a hotel showing a 5* rating. In addition we went to the Champagne Bar for a drink first and on a Sunday lunch the Madri and Guinness were not on then the Aspel cider pump had to be changed (it took 15 minutes to get served due to these issue and one of the drinks was a glass of wine). We went back to the Champagne bar after the meal and the wine that was supposedly on offer with 20% off wasn’t available, we were given an alternative but only given a 10% discount. Whilst we had a nice afternoon there were a few things that for a 5* rated place should not have happened.

Lovely quiet location. Staff, particularly bar staff, were very friendly and helpful. Gym and pool were good however a couple of pieces of equipment not working. The reason I have deducted a star is due to lack of sleep. Our room looked onto the service road for deliveries, bins etc. Due to Lorry delivery collection at 4.17am and people talking outside in the early hours of the morning made sleep difficult. I suggest you address the unsocial hours.

Location and overall atmosphere at the hotel is good with friendly staff. Very attractive decor downstairs and good facilities. Some staff were friendly but not overly helpful, for example in champagne bar no offer to open the champagne, when I asked to move a bar stool staff member said yes I could but no offer to help. Both very young staff members. Food in restaurant was good, slightly underwhelming when came to fish and chips as they weren’t as described. Ruby in restaurant was great, very attentive and helpful. Showed interest in us. Hotel room was a little disappointing, not as described when I booked direct, outdated furniture and very poor view. Yes we will return but will ask to be shown room before check in or ask to swap if same experience.
