The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, set in such grand surroundings, the entrance is great and overall you feel very special being here. Atmosphere is calm and relaxing, the rooms are really clean and maintained daily. We stayed when a wedding was happening and you couldn’t hear it at all in other parts of the hotel and overall very quiet. The food is beautiful. But what really stood out was the staff, in particular Oliver who was very fun, professional and had a great standard. He made the whole dining experience brilliant. A special mention to Reece as well who is always smiling. Overall, each and every staff member really created a very special stay, if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely return. I highly recommend staying here.

Oulton Hall is a beautiful hotel set in beautiful grounds. Came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday on a spa break. While the hotel is a lovely and historical place, I wouldn’t describe it as a spa hotel! The facilities are quite limited BUT it was very relaxing and the massages from Haleema and Lauren were amazing! Food was very good and the champagne bar was a good vibe; I’d recommend a drink on the terrace before dinner!

The afternoon was made very special. Excellent service from Robbie, with what felt like a personal touch. Robbie looked after us very well. We'll come against.

Absolutly brilliant from start to finish when we arrived the hotel looked amazing. We entered the hotel went to the bar for a drink as we were early fir our booking. The atmosphere was lovely teally relaxed like being on a holiday. The staff were very kind in the bar realky nice. When we entered the dining room wow so good we were seated and looked at the menu which was a great selection. After we ordered we just relaxed with another drink soaking up the atmosphere. When the food was served the presentation was great we had different starters which were delicious 3 of us had steaks and one had salmon all cooked perfectly looked so appetizing. Then we ate wow the food was perfect so nice. The service was great we sent our regards to the kitchen fantastic. We will definately be coming back here again it was such a special treat i would highly recommend we plan st book to stay a couple of nights next time. Even though we not far from home it was like being on holiday with the best service the food was fantastic best regards and big thank you to head chef and all his staff food was perfect we will definately be back big thank you to floor and bar staff too so kind and helpful made us feel special thank you

Had a lovely stay at the hotel and the golf club was the best part of our stay. Cody was really helpful on the driving range with my younger brother who was a beginner, would really recommend.

We visited Oulton Hall as a family with two toddlers under 4. We stayed in a deluxe family room which had an enormous bed and pull out sofa. It was a warm weekend but the room was a comfortable temperature. The air con was a little noisy at night. Breakfast was excellent, full selection of pastries, cereal, breads and cooked breakfast which was fresh and delicious each morning. I would advise early arrival to breakfast as after 8.30 it did get busy. Grounds of the hotel were beautiful and for the children there was a lovely little area with some garden games which the kids loved. We used the pool which was lovely and clean but a little chilly. Changing rooms were also immaculate but the family change room is very small so we found it easier to use the ladies changing rooms which were bigger. Overall a lovely hotel but a highlight was the customer service as reception staff were warm and helpful. Cleaning staff were especially wonderful as my daughter was sick on some bed linen and I was so embarrassed but when explaining to cleaning staff they were amazing and came to help straight away with a fresh set of linens and towels.

Had a lovely stay at Oulton hall. The room was perfect, spa was great and dinner served by Isla was gorgeous. Will definitely be back.

Big shout out to Olivia in the Claret Jug bar / restaurant, 5 stars all the way. She raised the standards significantly against a back drop of mediocrity. Please make sure she gets her Trip Adviser review money.

It was my first time at this lovely hotel, i booked it for a spa overnight break for my friend's birthday. The package we booked was fantastic, the hotel and staff were so friendly and helpful. As far as the spa facilities went they were basic but still enjoyable, i really think the spa section could be elevated by having a couple of outdoor hot tubs on the spa terrace and the section that is currently used as the weights room before the terrace as a pop bar area at least throughout the summer so you can enjoy a glass of prosecco outside rather tan having to venture back downstairs through the gym to get a drink, but overall the hotel was fabulous and we will be returning again, just maybe not specifically for the spa.

Amazing time, Robbie took good care of us, we had 4x afternoon teas and they were always on hand with refills of the teapots and food was amazing. Great location and great food.

On the whole, we had a lovely stay at this hotel - our 4th visit. The place itself is lovely and well kept, the food and the service excellent and all the staff so helpful and hard working. BUT the Check in is VERY POOR. When we last stayed in march 2025 we had to queue for about 40 minutes before we could check in and I was assured this was a one off occurrence, because everyone had by coincidence arrived together. Obviously it was not a one off because the same thing happened this time, and on talking to other guests, they complained about it as well. There are 4 positions at the front desk, so why are extra staff not available when there are a lot of people trying to check in. You just do not expect such a long delay at a hotel of this category and it is definitely the spoiler. It is a great pity and rather puts us off coming again. I could see that even the Receptionists who were doing their best were embarrassed and apologetic for the long wait standing in a queue with no seats or refreshments offered.

We stayed one night with our two labradors. Lovely room and they even supplied dog beds and bowls. The staff we met were personable and friendly with great customer care. Food was lovely, the public roomz stunning. Great value. We would definitely stay again.

Another lovely couple of days at Oulton Hall. The hotel has a good atmosphere, the food is great, the room very comfortable and the staff friendly and efficient. We hope to visit again soon

Oulton Hall offers more than simply comfortable accommodation. It contains a 19th century Victorian Mansion that offers much to see and appreciate, such as impressive grand staircase and high-ceiling reception hall. The grounds also provide pleasant walks that still reflect much of the landscape vision established over 200 years ago. We had a pleasant one-night stay at the hotel while we took the opportunity to visit the nearby Wakefield Cathedral and Nostell House.

Lovely dining experience in the restaurant, high quality food and service. Greeted and seated by Lillian with a friendly smile and served by Izzy very friendly and professionally. Highly recommended staying at this beautiful hotel.

This was a voucher deal spa experience for myself and three friends. It included cream tea, £35 towards evening meal, 4 drinks vouchers each and late check out. A real bargain! The staff were lovely and so helpful, I can't really fault them at all. It was very relaxing sitting in the lounge area, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were nice and clean and plenty big enough for a one night stay. I struggled with the evening meal as I don't eat meat and not a big fish lover and the pasta dish I chose had been slightly changed to include pumpkin, which I had never had, and don't think I will again! Although I wasn't keen on my meal, my friends seemed to really enjoy theirs. The dessert made up for it though, it was gorgeous. Because of the food allowance, I wasn't bothered that I hadn't enjoyed it all. I eat to live not live to eat! We then went in the bar to spend our vouchers! After Prosecco with the meal, we went on to gin and vodka and were pleasantly surprised to be served named drinks rather than the house stuff. We were served rather large gin glasses that take a bit of drinking so decided it might be better to have a double next time. This caused a problem as the young lady serving said she couldn't do this, something to do with mixers, but I didn't understand what the problem was as we would only be having one mixer with two gins? Anyway, we ended up not using all our vouchers as the bar closed quite early and then the four of us were the only people in the lounge! This is where my slight negative comments come in. I went to the ladies toilets, I didn't see any staff about at all. I felt very uncomfortable walking in as all the doors were closed and it was very quiet. Not a pleasant experience. I told my friends two should go together just to be safe! In the lounge a lot of the low windows were open and anybody could have climbed in - my imagination running wild again! My only other slight negative is the 'spa area'. It was quite busy in the pool with people with children and there seemed to be a lot of men going in the hot tub, one who's behaviour was very inappropriate and made us all feel uncomfortable. We didn't go in the sauna or steam rooms and we certainly didn't feel relaxed at all when we came out, so this wasn't quite what we expected of our 'spa break'. Apart from these few small niggles, we had a really nice time and I would certainly recommend it, especially if you get a good voucher deal! We will definitely be back. One small suggestion, possibly more outside seating? We only saw two tables with a couple of seats and stools and they were taken. Did we just not look hard enough? 🤣

Very lovely staff, food came quickly and was excellent quality. Very welcoming and friendly on a wedding day. Brilliant place for food.
