Walks in West Yorkshire
Immerse yourself in nature.
Dogs are always welcome at Oulton Hall, and we’ve taken some of the stress out of planning activities with a furry friend in tow. Here’s a few walks in West Yorkshire you can go on, by yourself or with man’s best friend…
BRONTE WATERFALLS
1 hour drive
Roam the moors.
Haworth, known for being the residence of the Brontë sisters, has some truly stunning landscapes. Located on the Moors said to have inspired the setting of Wuthering Heights, this walk is best done anti-clockwise, so you walk down the steepest hills, rather than up.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads.

WESSENDEN MOOR & BUTTERLEY RESERVOIR

Be on the lookout for wildlife on this beautiful Yorkshire walk through the northern edge of the Peak District. You’ll see lots of different birds, and maybe even a few deer if you’re lucky. You can also fish on part of this trail, but only if you have a license.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads.

Famous as one of the UK’s best wild swimming spots, this trail is best undertaken in summer to make the most of the freshwater swimming spots. The trail can be walked or biked, if that’s more your speed. Perfect for a morning hiking in Yorkshire.
