Harewood House has belonged to the Lascelles family since it was built in 1759 and is now a popular tourist attraction. The gardens, designed by Capability Brown, span 1000 acres in total, leaving plenty of space for kids to run around. It’s one of the best things to do in Yorkshire for families.

Painting pottery can be a great rainy day activity, it’s also very creative. Choose from a selection of pieces to decorate, including mugs, plates, animals, and several seasonal objects as well. Your piece will be fired in a kiln, and you’ll be able to take it home with you.

The Little Bookshop is Leeds’ only independent bookshop that specialises in children’s books. They hold regular storytime sessions and you can even find a selection of books for adults while the kids are being entertained.
